This is normal and not cause for concern. The rollers may or may not touch the helix at idle or shut off. During forward operation the rollers will be pressed against the drive helix angle and during deceleration the rollers will move to the decel angle opposite the accel angle so unless under load such as driving or deceleration the rollers may or may not touch. There are two angles on the helix; one the rollers ride on during acceleration and the other on the opposite side that the rollers ride on during deceleration. It is normal for the rollers to go back and forth between the two. When the car is shut off the friction of the belt will hold the sheaves in the last position they were in and not allow them to twist for rollers to contact.
