Good question! Our KWI clutch kits are super thoroughly tested - we're talking dynos, tracks, trails, and dunes - to make sure they perform at their best. We use Stalker STATS systems for acceleration testing, focusing on the best combo of acceleration, belt life, back-shifting, and top speed.
When we test shift RPMs, we look at the average full throttle RPMs during a drag race-type run, from around 5 mph to 80 mph. Here's what we recommend for different X3 models and setups:
- For stock and tuned 2017-2019 X3: Aim for 7,750-7,850 RPM.
- For 2020 X3 models: You're looking at 7,900-8,000 RPM.
- For big turbo kits: Go for 8,100-9,000 RPM (but also check what the turbo manufacturer suggests).
Even though you might see higher RPMs recommended online for faster speeds, our data and testing show that our setups provide the best performance and durability for your ride. Trust the KWI clutch kits to get the most out of your vehicle.
